Instrumental album, jazz, funky, soul, dance and electronic; the atmosphere is 70’s but the sound is the result of a search between the soundtracks of b-movies and crime films up to the early 80s.
Released on 15 September by Fonoarte musica e cultura / Revenge records Spotlife vol. zero, the new volume of music for multimedia content by Delavega. It’s Spotlife volume zero even if it is the fifth in chronological order. In fact this project is a kind of flash back. The songs included in the new album were composed and recorded in Suisa in 2010, the year in which Delavega began his adventure in the world of music and sound for "images" but it had been never published.
Giancarlo Sansone: "At that time we did not care about the catchiness of the songs but focused on improvisations guided by the vision of scraps, of old commercials, author films, b-movies, crime movies, series and sections of radio conversations. Something like 40 pieces of music came out and we proposed all to our customer (which we will never stop thanking for the trust placed in us).
Vandone Film immediately used the tracks for in-depth sports programs such as GP confidential which in those years was included in the schedule of many local TV stations, especially in South America.
About 2 years ago, after four volumes of Spotlife, listening to those songs again we realized that the time had come to work on that trying to bring out the soul, disco, jazz and electro-funk. For Flavio Gemma bassist and composer (Viridanse, Peggio Punx and Blaue Reiter) the last publication with Delavega was the soundtrack of the medium-length film by director Kenneth J. Harvey "It was sunny the day I killed her" dating back to 2014. So a very welcome return for a rediscovery of songs that left to decant and that now take a unique shape in this new album that marks the beginning and the heart of Delavega’s groove. Giancarlo Sansone, producer, sound designer and arranger, reshaped the sounds and mixed the tracks in a dance'70 key, as if catapulted into that era, the result is what you can hear in the songs Barracuda, Big one Mauro and light blue. A choice was made to make part of the album danceable accompanied by more experimental and new jazz moments such as Bega and the 5 o'clock tea to arrive at moments designed for types of images related to documentaries and TV series such as Blue mon, less and freedom. The triad dedicated to Bagonghi is the heart of this album that praises Fellini's inspirations to set music and tell the magic of the circus and its characters.
