RADIANT BLACK returns with Through the Valley of Decay, a new progressive/melodic death metal full-length album exploring the tension between ascent and collapse. From the opening surge of Ascent into the shifting textures of Viridian and First Light, the album balances melody and weight with an immersive approach. Elegy for the Condemned leans into darker, more expansive territory, while Between the Faces and The Witness drive forward with intensity, culminating in the layered, reflective closer Hall of Voices. Drawing on guitar-centered composition and progressive metal nuances, the record emphasizes cohesion and mood over excess, forming a continuous descent shaped by contrast, space, and emotional weight.


RADIANT BLACK is an independent solo project formed in 2022 by Raphael Meissonnier, operating within the melodic side of extreme metal. Since its debut, the project has developed through releases such as Epoqualypse (2022), Reborn (2023), and Rituals of Anarchy (2024), building a sound defined by tight riffing, layered melodies, and structured songwriting. Operating entirely independently, Radiant Black has gained traction in the underground through consistent releases and features across online metal platforms, steadily growing an audience around its evolving sound.
