Finnish blackened doom band Kalmo unveils new single “Feeding the Worms.”
The independently released track is built on suffocating heaviness and imagery of a hell
where bodies are devoured by worms. The song will be available on major streaming
platforms alongside its official YouTube video.
Inspired by biblical decay and eternal torment, “Feeding the Worms” marks a further
descent from Kalmo’s earlier releases “Thy Saviour, Thy Master” and “Thy Chosen One,”
pushing the band’s blackened doom into increasingly oppressive territory. Self-produced by
the band, the single combines traces of old-school heavy metal with Kalmo’s heavy doommetal riffing, conjuring visions of bodies half-claimed by the earth. Kalmo comments: “This
is doom for the damned — evil, heavy, and unrelenting.”

Kalmo (meaning “corpse” or “spirit of the dead” in Finnish) is a blackened doom metal band
from Finland, fusing raw doom with black and death metal edges. Exploring themes of
death, hellish damnation, dark side of humanity, and inevitable decay, Kalmo draws
influence from Black Sabbath, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Slayer, Death Breath, and
Convent. Their sound descends even further with “Feeding the Worms”
