"What does the world sound like when we're no longer in it? What grows over the pavement while winds howl thru cracked, abandoned skyscrapers? What will truly outlive us?"
The two unnaturally mountain-moving noise units EARTHFLESH and EYEROLLS embark on their first mutual journey through the vast and often monochromatic fields of noise and elongated drones – a trek that morphed into the evocative and beckoning ELEMENTAL ATROCITIES, that got released on August 26 via Bent Window Records on CD and Trepanation Recordings on tape.
ELEMENTAL ATROCITIES was conceived as a single, astonishing 58-minutes piece conjoining the tangible human element with the often distancing mechanical one, together producing a sonic voyage of proportions rarely heard of. While the release was cut into two portions named “Fading Places” and “Elemental Atrocities” (which you can find respectively separated on both sides of the tape edition), the effort needs to be engulfed as a whole to be properly experienced and understood.
EARTHFLESH
Formed by the end of 2019, EARTHFLESH has slowly been establishing itself a name in the noise scene, collaborating with some of the greatest names from its so-said Underground. Three years and 40+ records later, Swiss-based musician Bruno Silvestre Favez is still there - loud and proud - cultivating and sculpting its noise with passion, guts and determination.
EYEROLLS
The sounds made by Mx. Zoe! Eyerolls have been described as "super adventurous – you just may end up down some paths that aren’t quite as comfortable as you’d hope" (Tabs Out) and "either an excellent set of art slices or an annoying noise that demands you turn it off" (THE ORGAN). They can't both be wrong!
