MORTTICIA
Progressive Heavy Metal from Porto Alegre, Brazil, initially released by the band in 2020 as digital only, and now re-released by Pest Records as jewel-case CD version, too.
The Heavy Metal band MORTTICIA, originally formed in the city of Alegrete/RS in 2010, aims to build songs with a sound rooted on the traditional Heavy Metal of the 80's infused with more modern and progressive trends. With influences such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Queensrÿche and Angra, the band creates songs with complex structures and story-focused lyrics, against a backdrop of heavy riffs and striking melodies. Within the traditional metal sphere, the group has been featured on the NWOTHM Full Albums channel, which specializes in bands of the genre.
N.W.O.T.H.M. (New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal) is a direct heir to NWOBHM, and its emergence is mainly due to bands such as Ambush, Cauldron, Skull Fist and Enforcer, whom from 2005/2006 kicked off a movement, which aims the rescue of that classic sound and look of Heavy Metal practiced in the 1980s.
