Finnish Annabelle debutes with a single and video 'Perfect Lie'

Annabelle is a rock band founded in 2019. The main themes in their songwriting are authenticity and honesty. A certain longing for authenticity is emphasized in the band’s music and lyrics. Annabelle hails from the backwoods of a small Finnish town of Yläne. The flannel shirts and grunge influences cannot be overlooked, but musically they walk a path of their own. And the first single and video 'Perfect Lie' from their debut EP is out now.
Annabelle's music is fuelled by the connection between dynamic vocals and rough-edged guitar walls. The influential voice of Maria Helmisaari blooms irresistibly through the band’s both mellow and heavy musical landscapes. The guitarist Timo Toikka is known as a musician for various bands such as The Grammers and Achiote, and also for his melodic style of writing metal. Maria and Timo share a common musical background in 90’s alternative music. Their connection adds a certain extra effect into Annabelle’s music. Bassist Johan Helmisaari and drummer Heikki Kangas have worked together in various music projects over the years. The base they hold together is like a strong fabric for the band to paint their masterpieces on.
With their debut EP to be released later in 2022, Annabelle aims to rise on international stages. The debut album is currently in the making. The EP will be an arrival at musical crossroads for the four musicians and thus arranging the songs together as a band has been a vital part of the creative process. Their synergy is amplified by the influence of their common home town and the long friendships they’ve shared. These common roots, spiritual connections and love for heavy music are transmitted through Annabelle’s music.
'Perfect Lie' is the first taste from the EP. Underneath the standard “sex, love & rock’n’roll” surface and some lighthearted chick rock themes, a typical Annabelle-style depth does exist: The song is a story about an encounter, a dream and a whole world within a single gaze. And most of all, it’s about love.
