BIOGRAPHY 2005

The thrash metal band SCARS had its official kick off in 1991, in Sao Paulo / Brazil, and today is composed by Regis Frederico on vocals, Alex Zeraib on rhythm guitars, Eduardo Boccomino on lead guitars and Andre Sterzza on bass

Throughout its history, SCARS has already played along Anthrax, Kreator, Rata Blanca, Korzus among others, It’s got a back-pack with over 500 concerts in it, done mostly in Brazil up to 1998, year when band split up. In April 2004 the band gets back together for rehearsals and recordings. The debut album “Ultimate Encore” was released by Encore Records in 1994, with four tracks, out of which one video-clip from the first track “World decay”. This album shows a bay-area-born-band living up to its early/mid 80s old school background.

“The Nether Hell” sets in early 2005. This is an EP with six tracks of a broader scope of personalities: Legions (forgotten by the gods) and hidden Roots of Evil show the band’s vividly influenced by Death Metal. The more Thrash Metal ones are Warfare and Creatures That Come Alive In The dark, which really scan through SCARS old school veins. As for the title-track Nether hell and the crunching Return To The killing ground, the band explores weight and heaviness of a more held-back, slower stomping style Lyrics are mostly composed by Regis, Andre and Alex and have as mission report of the hell that has settled on Earth. All themes on “the Nether Hell” are of hopeless hell… of schizophrenic similarity between good and evil… of the infernal reality of the 20th and 21th centuries… of the truth that tomorrow shall be worse than today… of cruel fact that we’re subjected to confuse, selfish and cruel leaders The heaviest and most aggressive, not blending with any style – just plain old good thrash metal!
