BIOGRAFIA 2003

Silent Cry started back in 1993 by the initial idea of Jefferson Guimaraes (Drums,Vocals), and Dilpho Castro (Guitars and vocals), to complete the band's line up were invited to join the band at that time the Cristiano Jarbas (Bass guitar), and not long after that Antonio Mattos (Keyboard). Later in that same year Cristiano would have to breack away from the band for personal reasons and to replace him was invited Jaderson Vitorino. With this line up the first demo tape by the band was released late that same year. Titled "Tanatofilo, opulente plenilunio", the demo tape opened many doors to the band.

Later on, in 1995, Cassio Brandi (Guitar) and Suelly Ribeiro (Vocals) were invited to join the band bring many new possibilities. With that new line up,the band started in 1996, recording what was intended to be the bands first Cd, victim of a Sao Paulo's record label's bad faith, the band would not release the new material untill early 1997, after a full year waiting for the above mentioned record label.

The band decided to release the material as the bands second demo tape, "Tears of serenity", had very good reviews from critics all over Brazil. Before the release of the demo "Tears of serenity", Jefferson Guimaraes would have to leave the band, and move to Boston, MA, US, where later on started a Orchestral Dark Doom metal project by the name "My Threnody", the band would experiment many drumers before finally inviting Ricardo Meireles, that joined the band early 1998, and Antonio mattos on the keyboards would be replaced by Bruno Selmer.With this line up and now signed to the Demise Records, the band released in 1999 their first Cd, "Rembrance". With the release of "Remembrance" that band atracted the attention of the underground public obtaining its space in the brasilian scenery.

Now in 2000, the band releases the second Cd by the name "Goddess of tears", giving continuity to the work started with the Cd "Remembrance". Early 2001 the band went through some hard times, loosing the vocalist Suelly Ribeiro, who had to quit the band due to the distance between the city where she lives on and the city where the band is based. soon after that Ana Marcia was invited and joined the group, during that same period, Ricardo Meireles had to quit the band, and finally, after many years with the band, Cassio Brandi (Guitars) anounced his intentions to leave Silent Cry. After that the band did not stop, now with just one guitar, and a new drumer, and the new vocalist Silent Cry started composing songs to feature the third cd.

In early 2002 Silent Cry releases an EP vith 5 songs tittled "Shades of The Last Way" wich would be the last release to be released through Demise Records. Just this month (November) the new CD "Shadows Dance" is released by the bands own lable vernus records.
