BIOGRAFIA 2002

UmbraE fue formado en el ultimo año del siglo pasado por jóvenes que necesitaban un escape. Enfermos de espantosas agrupaciones que definían la escena metalera en su tierra, deciden emprender ellos mismos en la creación de un nuevo concepto en metal, al menos para su pedazo de tierra.

Así, Macklen Mingura e Ivan Perales empiezan a des-componer su propia música. Poco después, y habiendo probado muchos talentos que no encajaron en su visión, se topan con Victor Hernández, anterior líder y fuerza motriz detrás de la legendaria banda de Black-Death Metal llamada Mortigena, quien accede a trabajar con ellos y aporta un nuevo concepto de sonido mas pesado a la novel banda. La apuesta estaba hecha. Victor también trae consigo otra parte crucial para el proyecto. El presenta con la banda a una anterior compañera de Mortigena, la tecladista Galia Mireles, quien acepta la apuesta y entra al grupo. El circulo se cierra con la adición de Julio Rodríguez al Bajo, el mas joven de ellos, con amplia experiencia en bandas locales y una variedad de estilos musicales que vendrían a solidificar lo que sería el sonido de UmbraE.

Después de unos cuantos meses de ensayo, deciden poner su trabajo en una grabación y entran las puertas de DPS Studios, Chihuahua, para grabar su primer álbum. Trece tracks de música depresiva, y aun colorida que apenas puede ser catalogada como un solo género. Así de amplios son sus horizontes. Completamente autoproducidos, sin ningún patrocinio, ellos lanzan el CD Infamous Revelations en el verano del 2000. Buen inicio para el nuevo siglo. El disco pronto sube a los primeros lugares de popularidad en su ciudad, dando al grupo un nombre incluso en ciudades vecinas. A pesar de su corto tiraje, (solo 150 copias salieron a la venta, numeradas y firmadas por los autores) Infamous Revelations llegó a lugares muy lejanos al lugar de su creación. Reseñas en fanzines en todo el país fueron positivas a la obra e incluso Internet la acogió con entusiasmo. Tres meses seguidos en los tres primeros lugares de las listas de metal mexicano en MP3.com así como algunas buenas críticas en webzines alrededor del mundo saludaron a Infamous Revelations como un digno comienzo.

Ahora, casi un año después de la emoción inicial, UmbraE ha recibido algunas ofertas de trabajo en disqueras alrededor del mundo. Listos para entrar de nuevo al estudio, esperan grabar su segundo album antes de que 2001 se haya ido para siempre. Además, es muy posible que una nueva edición de Infamous Revelations sea lanzada con ciertamente más de 150 copias. Si eres un fan, puedes estar seguro de que escucharás más de esta banda. Si no lo eres, también.

BIOGRAPHY 2002

UmbraE was formed in the last years of the past century by young men who needed an escape. Sick and tired of hideous units that defined the metal scene on their homeland, they decide to take the task themselves and create a new concept in metal, at least to their tiny piece of earth.

Thus, Macklen Mingura and Ivan Perales begin de-composing their own music. Shortly after that, and having tested several talents that didn´t fit in their vision, they ran into Victor Hernandez, former frontman and moving force behind the legendary Black-Death Metal band named Mortigena, who agrees to work with them and introduces a new concept of heavier sound in the novel band. The coin was in the air. Victor also carries with him another crucial piece for the whole project. He introduces his bandmates to a former Mortigena bandmate, keyboard rapist Galia Mireles, who gladly accepts the wager and enters the team. The circle comes full with the addition of Julio Rodriguez on Bass Guitar, a young lad carrying a wide experience on local bands and a variety of musical styles that came to solidify what would become UmbraE´s sound.

After a handful of months at rehearsal, they decide to put their work on record and enter the gates of DPS Studios, Chihuahua, to record their first album. Thirteen tracks of moody, yet colorful music which just barely can be labeled as one single genre. This broad their limits are. Completely self produced, with no sponsorship whatsoever, they release Infamous Revelations on CD, on the summer of 2000. Quite a kickoff for the new century. The record promptly climbed to the first places of popularity in their hometown, giving the band a name in the metal scene even in nearby cities. Despite its short quantity (only 150 copies were released, numbered and signed by the authors) Infamous Revelations reached to places far away from were it saw the light. Reviews on fanzines all over their country were supportive to the opus and the Internet also received it with enthusiasm. Three months in a row in the three first places in the Mexican Metal charts on MP3.Com as well as several good critics on webzines around the world hailed Infamous Revelations as a worthy start-up.

Now, almost a year after the initial thrill, UmbraE has received a few job offers in Metal Labels worldwide. Ready to hit the studio again, they expect to record their second album before 2001 is gone forever. Also, it is very possible that a new edition of Infamous Revelations is released with certainly more than 150 copies. If you are a fan, you can be sure that you will hear more from this unit. If you are not, uhhh.you will too.
